I havent seen Star Wars yet but Im assuming that making a good Star Wars film is more of a challenge to make than making a good Star Trek film. But then again, that theory is based around how even Lucas could not even make his prequels seem similar in tone/style to the OT. But hey, maybe a director someday will make another prequel which matches the tone/style of the Lucas prequels with good direction/writing!

Haven't seen Star Wars yet, but even though I enjoyed the first Star Trek reboot, there's no denying he turned the classic franchise into an action flick. At no time was it ever a real Star Trek movie, don't even get me started on 'Into Darkness'.
So probably Star Wars. |

Question is invalid by its own design.
Star Trek was a reboot that goes back and reinvents the story of the characters while overwriting the films that came before it. Star Wars is a sequel that does not change anything about the films that came before, but embraces those that came before and integrates those stories into the continuation of the character arcs. Your query is... illogical. |

I haven't even seen Star Wars yet and I still voted for it over Star Trek. The two Star Trek movies didn't even feel like Star Trek movies.

Star Wars: TFA wasn't a reboot so Star Trek by default.

Star Trek. The Force Awakens isn't technically a reboot, plus I think the damage done by Insurrection, Nemesis, and Enterprise coupled with the prospect of recasting the beloved original crew(aside from Spock Prime) all but killed any interest I had in seeing Abrams' film. I was stunned at how good it turned out. I just wish it hadn't taken them 4 years to make another one, especially since it wound up being a rehash of Wrath of Khan.
The Force Awakens did have to follow in the wake of the horrible prequels, but c'mon, it's Star Wars. As bad as the prequels were, they were still box office blockbusters. And interest was always gonna be high in the new movie since it brought back the original cast. All Abrams had to do here was not completely screw it up like Lucas did(and on that front, he did his job). |
