It sounds like this might not work for everyone, but hopefully should help some people.

A couple of points:
- I gave the gc to myself, and while the "order" e-mail came through fine. The "gift" e-mail with the code and link went straight to spam.
- Only the e-mailable Gift Cards worked for me. Example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014JBPC7G/

Still, this was a nice way to get a "free" £7. And I hadn't yet paid for my recent order with the £10 promo, so it was easy enough to apply the £30 to that.

i was not eligible for the promotion

but oddly enough i never seem to be, for any of amazon's gift card promos.

I'm sorry to hear that impasse. I was expecting some people to be excluded for obvious reasons, like not having had an account in December, but it's a real shame if you're just never eligible for these. Perhaps contacting them might help?

I ordered about 9 hours ago and haven't gotten it yet. But it says it might be as long as 48 hours for the code to be sent, so I'm not worried. I'm sometimes away from the internet, but I will post as soon as I see it come through.

I'm not eligible either. I am a US customer who has ordered from Amazon.co.uk. Not sure if the shipping address matters. I didn't qualify for the last one of these, either.

For tomahawk, who was wondering how long it takes to get the promo code, I received it a couple hours ago, maybe 29 hours or so after the order.

I wouldn't think so, wouldn't that be wrong to charge us VAT when we're not supposed to pay it, just because we have a code? Obviously I'm not an expert though.

Still, even if that were the case then I think we'd come out ahead on moderately or cheaply priced items. Example: A £10 title would be £8 with VAT taken out, but £3 with it included but the promo used. On a much more expensive set then it might not be a good idea IF the VAT were left in.

Nope. But it may vary. I've had previous promotional GC's work sometimes (I have no idea why) but most of time, they can only be used if Amazon is selling it...not fulfilling it.
