Default Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Blu-ray?

Over 6 months ago there were rumours and posts that Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf was about to be released on Blu-ray. AFAIK, it has not happened and not are there any definitive signs that the film is coming out on BD. Does anyone have any information about what's happening?

IMO, a film like that needs Criterion and/or MoS treatment.

I thought Warner would have released it this year, seeing as it's Warner's 90th anniversary year, but they haven't released many Warner titles at all, maybe next year. Warner don't license out titles, so it won't be Criterion, just as well as they're region A locked.

WB would give this the best video and audio, if they decide to release it. It stands on its own, so there isn't any need for extras.

This and Kelly's Heroes were supposed to be steelbooks. They released all those steelbooks at the beginning of the year, and apart from the Batman films on steelbook, haven't really done anything else special. Then again is releasing the Batman films again that special?

I have a few steelbooks but don't go around collecting them. But I will get one for WAOVW if and when one becomes available. If it cannot be Criterion or MoC, it has to look special somehow to sit with the likes of Sweet Smell of Success and On The Waterfront.

this is probably my most-wanted film on Blu-Ray.
Really hope WB puts it out this year (preferably in a digibook)

I really, really want this to come out.

I watched it the other night via an old TCM recording and I absolutely loved it.

It REALLY should come out this year, this year is REALLY the best time. Why? Because it'll be the 50th Anniversary (1966 - 2016) of the film!

Here, here...

It's getting criminal at this point. I can just imagine what a gorgeous black and white marvel it would be properly restored on Blu.
