I am interested in how it compares to the French BD - especially as the distributors are different (MK2 vs Universal).

I used to watch Twin Peaks on BBC, must be 15 – 20 years ago now (OLD ! ) when I was at school. Think mainly for Sherilyn Fenn/Audrey.

I have never seen this movie, heard of it, but never got round to it. Is this stand alone, I can remember the series quite well, but not well enough if the movie requires in depth knowledge.

Could anyone advise?

Its a prequel showing what happened before the show. You dont have to have seen the show, But it does have many spoilers about some of the shows mysteries. So if youve seen the show you'll be fine. If you havent, watch the show first.

Looks like all the Lynch movies will be getting slipcovers. I think I'll get the Kyle MacLachlan ones 1st, then Lost Highway.

Some of the IndiVision titles released through Universal are Region-B "locked". Example:

I would suggest waiting for a review.

Any way if guessing whether this might be better or worse than the French release?

I won't purchase until I'm 100 percent sure. It'll be a damn shame though if this release, like the rest of TP: FWWM is Region B locked....

I have the French Mk2 release and it's excellent, 1080p and English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.

The UK version uses a 1080i transfer = Pal speedup, and the soundtrack is English: LPCM 2.0 and has some audio glitches.

The Australian version is identical to the French Mk2, so i would go for the cheapest option.

I own the UK release from the Lynch boxset. I'm no videophile, so I wouldn't know about it's technical inferiors, but I always thinks the UK release gets a bum deal - I think it looks pretty amazing.

As you can see the video quality is near enough the same, the UK release is a touch lighter, but that's not really the issue. The UK release is sped up, playing at 25fps rather than 24fps. They did fix the audio glitches and added the 5.1 track to later pressings but it's still a 1080i release when every other release is 1080p. It's also missing the EPK found on every other release, a small throwaway thing but still there's no real logic behind the UK release.

i really see no real difference either other than the UK is more lighter. I also seen the backcover and it says 1080p whats up with that if people say its 1080i
