I was way too young when I saw this movie, don't even remember it being something Christmas-esque at all.

![]() Unfortunatly, 'Remember the Night' didn't make it. That second place would have changed that, indeed. Last edited by estebanē; 12-26-2016 at 09:37 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I just discovered 'Arthur Christmas' on Christmas Day this year and ... Wow, it's an instant fave for me. It has the Aardman 'funny', great visuals and -most important of all- a big heart in the right place. This actually moved me. More people need to see this! It deserved to be way higher. ![]() |

There's a lot of older movies in this list I haven't seen myself. Lot of catching up to do. That's what you get when you don't buy everything anymore, don't have all those pay-channels (Netflix etc) and -on the other hand- don't do downloads.

I agree about Fred Astaire's character being a bit unlikable, i felt the same way but at the same time, i found the movie to be far superior to White Christmas in every way.

Half of these movies arent even Christmas movies. Next year there needs to be stricter rules.

While some of them aren't what I have in mind when I personally think of Christmas movies, they do all fit the description. One more than the other, true, but it was heavily discussed in two related topics before, where lots of members had very good arguments about why their choices were right. Some of them even opened my eyes, since they did have a point. All of the 120+ movies in the race embraced Christmas in one way or another. If I was as strict as I first planned, the same ten movies would have gotten votes by few members, cause most wouldn't be interested anymore. Where's the fun in that? I truly believe this was the right way to do it. The way it is now.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() While working on the visual part of these results, I noticed 'Scrooge' (1951) and 'A Christmas Carol' (1951) were the same movie. One half of the voters used the short title (IMDB), the other half used the long one (DVD covers etc). So I had to recalculate those results and that way 'Scrooge' isn't number 30, but way higher. In fact, 'The Family Man' (2000) comes in at 50 now. And all the titles above go up one place. ![]() ![]() And after this we'll just go on like before, starting with 30, the right one. ![]() |
