Default Yellow Spots on SXRD

I'm watching Rocky now and I notice spotty yellow spots in the movie continuously on the screen (15 minutes into it...about to stop watching it because it is annoying me). Anyone else experience this?

Check out the rear projection forum of the AVS.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=63

Do a search for your model, or go through the posts. The AVS is a good source of info for home theater equipment. (Except for high def media, that is).

LMAO!

To answer your question though, it's the light engine on your SXRD model. Sony has extended their warrenty on that part of the TV. Call Sony and they'll send somebody out to fix it for free.

Quote:
Sony has responded to consumer complaints regarding it SXRD rear projectors. This issue has required the replacement of the optical block, which contain the imagers within its light engine . This has been an expensive out-of-warranty¯ replacement. Sony™s website now states

Ugh... I have a A2000 but no yellow spots. I got mine as soon as they became available (1 yr and 4 mo).

Sony cleared up the issue before releasing the A2000 and brand new A3000 series. I bought an A2000 50" set exactly 1 year ago, and I researched it before buying.

No worries. You shouldn't have an issue with it.

i have a 60" a2000 and im getting yellow discoloration in the top right corner. Its obvious in white scenes, and noticeable (but not obvious) in other scenes.

I live in Canada though, wonder if Sony will do anything for me?
