Four times in the last few months I have ordered used Blu rays from goHastings only to receive the remakes or sequels instead. This has happened with...
- Bad Lieutenant - Children of the Corn (I got part III instead) - I Spit on Your Grave - A Nightmare on Elm Street Has anyone else had this kind of problem? I emailed them today and suggested they take another look at how they organize their stock because this is getting ridiculous. |

This is my main problem with GoHastings. If there is another, more popular movie with the same title, I will get that one instead of the one I ordered.
This has been a problem with them for years. They do have good customer service though, so it is never a problem returning and getting a refund. |

Considering they don't have a central location where they handle everything, and it's all handled at the stores, I'm sure it's a store associate that doesn't know what they're doing. At first, I wondered if the clerks were entering them in wrong when the used DVD came in, but I find it more likely that the order comes in, they see the title, then pull it from the shelf without checking to make sure it's the right one. They really do need something in the system that makes them scan a barcode when they come in and when the associate pulls the product for shipping. That way the proper item is in their inventory and pulled.

It's not just them with this issue, even fye.com has been known to have the same problem. I remember a couple of years back, I attempted to order "The Stepfather", and 3 orders later, every single time it was that damn remake! ![]() I chalk this up to either idiot warehouse employees who have no clue of the difference between remakes or the people taking in trade-ins have no clue. Just the way it goes. ![]() P.S. Tried ordering it from gohastings as well & they too kept sending me the friggin remake! Had to go the eBay route to eventually get the right movie. I emailed goHastings a few hours ago about this issue and already got a very agreeable response...
"I’m very sorry that the item we shipped to you was not the correct item. I have submitted this item for a refund. The refund should post back to your method of payment in 2-10 business days (dependent upon your bank’s policies. Your shipping cost was included in the refund. Please don't worry about returning the item that you received back to us." |

Haven't had that issue. Though one time I ordered Star Wars Eps 1-6 (the two different standalone trilogy sets) from them and received obviously authentic cases that had six blank cd-rs with star wars labels printed on them.
Got a refund pretty quickly and had to send the things back. |

I received a Charlie Brown special on DVD instead of the complete Star Trek: The Next Generation series on DVD. I was refunded instantly over the embarrassment. They definitely do not have any sort of standard double-checking procedure.
Hastings has issues. The latest issue I have noticed is that they transfer used movies into weak eco-cases that are old and look like garbage. Also, as a bonus, the cases sometimes smell of pungent cigarette smoke. |

![]() all I get is return shipping instructions....I called but my home phone won't connect..so I called via cell and rep just politely read me the usual robotic response .....I called corporate and told them of the issues and they seemed concerned. It appears they have had lots of complaints about the misrepresentation of what is posted on their web page and what you get. I was told someone will get back to me so let's see what happens. It is just wrong to screw up an order make you pay for return shipping as well as the original shipping charge. No other internet site, even E-bay doesn't go for that when the problem is clearly the sellers fault. |
