I know there's amazon.Com and other sites, but sometimes it's more exciting to just pick the movie right away.I don't mind driving an hour and a half to two hours to best buy or fye if I know the movie will be there.

Within a two-mile radius of my home, I've got Movie Stop, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and an amazing used movie/music store.
I buy most of my movies online, simply because the above stores don't typically stock the older cult titles that I seek out, but it's nice to know that movie shopping at a brick-and-mortar location is pretty effortless in my location. |

Every other week I drive about two hours and visit two different Rasputin Music locations. They're a California Bay Area store that's kind of a throw back to the old Tower Records stores. They buy used media so I usually find OOP gems and random stuff that's not readily available. Their prices are also based on retail, not reseller prices. I've found lots of OOP slipcovers and steelbooks for even less than they sold on their release day.

Gas and my time is worth more these days. I almost never specifically go out for a movie. If I'm out for other stuff I will stop at Best Buy or someplace and pick something up. In my younger years when my entire check was for DVDs I would travel all over the high heavens searching for movies.

I drove 40 minutes for the Steelbook of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
I drove over an hour to get the Steelbook of The Dark Knight Rises. I'm now in a small city that has no place to drive to, to get Blu's and so order online. |

I regularly drive 1-1.5 hours away for stuff, it's just my location. Before Amazon and the ease of the Internet, I drove from NC TO Canada and back hitting nearly every shop recommended on a record store list.
Now, I still do crazy stuff like that in my travels especially with family so spread out. Again, I'm never just going to a shop, I'm enjoying the drive, seeing family, finding new foods to try, art for my walls, etc. |

I would only drive out of my local area for an OOP or rare release.
Back when the Vengeance Trilogy was released as a Best Buy Exclusive Tin Set, I drove 30+ miles in traffic to pick up a copy since my local store didn't have any in stock. |

I'd use to go to places like FYE and Barnes and Noble to get certain movies I wanted (which would take about 20 minutes or so). However, thanks to Amazon and third party sellers, I have since stopped using them (mostly; If I'm in my local Target or Walmart and I see a deal on something I want, I go for it).
