Philips 49PUT4900
49 inch Only problem is that I can't access 4K content at the moment! My next plan is to get a 4K/UHD blu-ray player and I know Virgin Media will eventually get 4K channels. But at the moment I use my PS4 for blu-rays. For those in the know, do you think it's just worth me waiting for the next Playstation to come out which is apparently going to contain a 4K blu-ray player? On top of that I want to buy a blu-ray player that'll play Region A discs. I've got over 600 blu-rays in my collection but there are loads that you can only get via America so obviously they won't play on the UK PS4. I've already bought El Topo, West of Memphis etc on blu-ray but am unable to play them at the moment. So all round, a lot of messing about trying to figure out the best option of what to do. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. |

I understand, you have over 600 blu-rays in your collection. 4K UHD movie can downscales to your 1080p HDTV. Think save about it. Stick to Atmos or DTSX |

Wait to see what Oppo do, then buy that and get it modded for all regions. It might be pricey but you probably won't have to buy another player. I'm still using my Oppo BD80 with a multiregion mod and never saw a reason to replace it.
If you desperately want to watch 4k stuff, watch Netflix for now. They've got tons of stuff and things like Narcos and Stranger Things look great and are great too. I dunno if this approach will suit but it's what I'm doing. ![]() |

Wait until the 7th, that's the Playstation event where Sony will announce the Neo. You should have a good idea on price, release date and be able to compare with the other players currently out. That's my plan, got a PS4 and with the One S getting less than stellar reviews, I'm waiting. Eventually the plan is to get whatever Oppo offers for region free playing but until then I need something else to hold me off until then.

I'd hold tight for the Sony announcement on Sept. 7 here in U.S.

Well the PS4 Pro will have a blu-ray player....but it's not 4K/UHD, even tho you can play 4K/UHD games on it!
