United Kingdom Flixster in the UK

Hello friends,

I just had a quick question. Is anyone having trouble accessing Flixster in the UK recently? Like trouble getting on the website or the app or trouble trying to redeem a code? Any answers would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Why bother? It’s dead in the U.K. imo. You just have to pick a supplier and stick with them. Amazon, ITunes, Sky etc..

Or even better, stick with disc.

Yes, I had trouble logging in, told me that Flixster US was closed and would not let me log in/view my UV collection. Not sure why, I do have a majority US codes redeemed in my account, but also UK and others. So the site loads but does not let me log in. This was a several days ago, so I haven't tried since then.

Actually I don't live in the UK so that is why I was asking. I sold a code for Batman TAS UK edition and the buyer is telling me it won't work, there was an error, and now he keeps saying Flixster is blocked in the UK. I asked him for a screenshot but he didn't answer me. So I'm just trying to confirm whether he's telling the truth or trying to rip me off. But anyway thanks for the info crackedknee. I guess he might be telling me the truth then.

Seems stupid to me that WB would continue using Flixster if it's a dying service.

It's still linked to Warner All Access, so SHOULD still work (specifically Bats Animated UK) should redeem on Flixster UK, but of course, only if you can get it to work. I wonder though, if Warner All Access would then work for the redeem? The UK version, I mean.

Checked just now, still won't let me log in, there is a redeem link for Batman Animated series, so I guess the intent is that it would work.

flixster is probably on its last legs in 2019. with canada, studios have been pushing people toward google play or itunes redeems instead. no idea what shape the uk is in without flixster. can any of the uv uk codes be redeemed at any other provider?
(for some reason i dont believe many/any of the studios supported itunes, amazon, or google play in the uk as alternatives for digital code redemption.)

I just checked Warner All Access, it loads, and that is the equivalent of Flixster (and both are linked to my UV account as intertwined services). So it's possible the code can be redeemed there instead.

This is pretty much my question at the moment - I'm not seeing any real viable/good options for redeeming UV codes in the UK (would love to be corrected though). Looks like really only iTunes or Google Play would be your options, but they don't cover every studio....begs the question, what's the point of including them in the box?

And even in the US, there's a multitude of ways to redeem the codes. It's just a mess everywhere.

Flixster UK is still working. I just checked my app on my tablet. I can then cast to the tv.

As far as I’m aware, none of those companies are UV agents.

Yeah, that’s what I am saying. You just have to pick a service and hope they stay around. UV is dead in this country. However, digital is apparently doing well with Sky Store (which comes with choice of DVD or Blu-ray) and ITunes the market leaders I read. I expect Apple will close the gap now that they are allowing ITunes on Samsung 2019 tv models (surely more to follow).

Just for disclosure, I am a Blu-ray collector through and through but I keep a very close eye on developments.

that's what I'm afraid with all those digital/UV Downloads... you buy and the suddently the Service gonna be closed and you can't use anymore the download. And also when you get a new TV/drive.. suddently it's not anymore compatible. So you have to buy again the movie.

That’s why I think streaming/downloading is a load of wank excuse my French! Physical copies hopefully will never die out. If the public stop buying physical copies then there will be no point in buying any digital copies because like you say if service providers fold any collections will be gone! Waste of time.

No idea why anyone would buy a UK code for that series. Probably wasn't a good price either.

I had issues using a paid VPN service and they seem to be able to detect that you are connecting from US. The other issue now is, even if you are able to get on the UK (or Canada) Flixster site, you can't login using your US userid and pw as they will just show a message that the US Flixster is no longer operating. You have to create a new userid/pw for the UK flixster and another one for Canadian Flixster (if you also redeem Canadian codes). You will also need to link it to UV. I ended up using the Hoxx VPN (free) Chrome extension and successfully redeemed UK codes for Big Bang theory S9 & S10.

Sadly Flixster is closing on the UK on the 31st October. They sent an email yesterday about this. I believe they are no longer redeeming codes.

Any way or service that we can add our libraries too?

The codes will still work until it closes

It's closing and going over to Google play. But for now it should work.

It's working for me currently

I haven't seen or heard anything about flixster video shutting down in the UK and I''m still able to redeem films on flixster video I just can't watch anything on the site due to requiring flash which browsers don't support anymore although I know there is a way of enabling it but not sure if this still works.

It feels like Flixster has been abandoned which means i have no way of watching my films on my UV collection anymore, same thing happened with the old Harry potter films
