20th Century Fox Neuromancer (dir. Tim Miller)

Back when Deadline revealed that Deadpool helmer Tim Miller had dropped out of the sequel of his hit movie over creative differences, Fox insiders said the studio would work hard to make sure that it found a major project for Miller and his VFX studio Blur to build from the ground up. They’ve found one: Neuromancer, the classic cyberpunk novel by William Gibson. Simon Kinberg will produce.

The studio will soon set a writer to adapt a tale that has drawn the interest of several filmmakers in the past.

I thought cyberpunk wasn't viable these days?

Anyway, sounds interesting.

First thought: wow!

Second thought: I hope they do it justice. Obviously a classic.

Third thought: As far as commercial viability, after the way Ghost in the Shell and Valerian bombed, I guess we'll see how Blade Runner 2049 does to see how big budget Sci-Fi (especially based on IP that has already inspired other movies) is trending.

I wonder if they will finally get it made this time!
I would love to see this book come to the screen. It still has some pretty wild ideas despite its age!

They've brought on one of the main artists/designers from Ghost in the Shell

I gotta say the lack of hype in this thread doesn't portend too well for this movie... we'll see.

To the lack of hype,I consider that a plus.Just unsure how much they will succeed in dialing in the mood of the story.

They've been trying for years now to get this thing to the screen. Will Miller succeed? Maybe if Blade Runner 2049 is a hit with the big audience, although I doubt that.
