PDF is just a file format or a good a analogy a piece of paper. The photo's have been around for a while along with most of the specs, so the question is what exciting information is in the PDF?

On the 2500 it looks that way but the 3800 has them.

Maybe the interesting part of the link provided is that the person who posted the pdf wrote: "I work for a high end av shop and just received these pdfs from sales rep".
That would mean that there is finally something happening at Denon regarding those players?!?
Since the announcement release there has been minimum information. So I welcome the news and I really look forward on putting finally my hands on the Denon player (I am growing a bit frustrated of purchasing Blu-ray movies without even owning a player... :-)

Default What To Do?

I have a new unopened 60gb PS3 that I was planning on cracking open next week, mostly for blu ray playing but now I am torn. The Denon players seem like they are really great players as is the Panasonic BD30. Now I can't decide whether to return the PS3 and then pick up either the Panasonic or wait til next month for the new Denons. I was able to get the PS3 with the 20% off KMart coupon in November so I only paid $399 for it, but I don't really plan on playing games much if at all and maybe that money is better spent on one of the stand alone models??

edgong, it really depends on how much money you have and how recent your receiver is. If your receiver has HDMI and does all the codecs including DTS MA, the Denon 2500 would be a great choice and the BD30 a pretty good choice.

If your receiver does not do the newer codecs you are better off sticking with the PS3, or going to a top of the line model like the Denon 3800.

Default what To Do?

I was already planning on updating to the Onkyo 705 receiver shortly so that is not an issue. My main concern with standalones is the seemingly constant firmware updates and the ease of such. I only have dial up . I do have to admit I own a Toshiba HD player right now and they automatically mail a firmware update cd when it comes out(nice touch). with the PS3 I could always go to the local sony store and have them download it for me to a USB storage device. Just worried how much problem I would have with any needed Panasonic or Denon updates.
