Default Help Please

New here and have searched the web and here for answers to no avail.

I have the Samsung 4K player and the LG OLED

To watch HDR content I turned on the HDR setting on the DVD player and the Deep color setting on the LG OLED TV.

Is this correct? I have noticed now that every 10-20 minutes the playback is interrupted and screen goes blank and says HDR content has stopped playing then HDR content has started playing and the movie resumes.

Hoping it's not my HDMI cable because they are in the walls when my house got built so the HDMI cables are from 2009.

Thanks for any help.

I would say that your cables are the issue

It's more than likely the cable.

Don't know why but turned off deep color on my LG OLED and problem is gone?

Some kind of conflict between my Samsung 4K player HDR and the Samsung when the deep color is turned on?

You need the Deep Color setting turned on in the LG (and not the Samsung) in order to engage higher bit depth processing on the TV.

It's your cable. Not enough data bandwidth is allowed to pass through.

Well you guys are kind to point out the problem, will the OP listen. I doubt it as people seem to ignore the obvious advice now-a-days.

I have the Samsung 4k player and LG Oled and my HDR works just fine. I never went to any settings on my 4k player. It recognizes it on its own. I also didnt touch any deep color settings on my tv. You shouldnt have to change anything if you have the right connections and equipment. Got Em!!

The problem is that some devices' default settings are incorrect for getting the best audio and video out of them.
