Are they still upscaled?
For example, on a 4KTV, playing a blu-ray on a PS3. Does it look better, same, or worse than a regular 1080p TV? In other words, does the 4k bluray player do the upscaling, or the TV? The TV upscales, and yes IMO a bluray played on a 4k TV does look slightly better than on a standard 1080p set
