Default Frank Borzage Collection?

It would be great if we got a collection of Franz Borage's best 3 films - 7th Heaven, Street Angel and Lucky Star from Eureka-MoC or Arrow Academy. As it is, only English unfriendly French releases are available. I understand Borzage was influenced by F W Murnau.

Borzage also directed The Mortal Storm but that was a different generation.

I don't think they have imposed French subtitles if that's what you mean, otherwise they are English friendly as they have English intertitles.

I'm all for that, but those French releases of 7th Heaven, Street Angel and Lucky Star (with the reconstruction of The River) are all English friendly with no forced French subtitles. The featurettes and the commentary on The River are unsubtitled French but the features and Screen Directors Playhouse TV episodes on each disc are both English friendly, as is the 1958 interview with Borzage on 7th Heaven.

Thanks people. I was under the impression that the French subtitles were forced-in. Obviously, they are not.

Still, I prefer to wait a bit to see if any of the UK distributors release the trio.

The BFI released those and Liliom on DVD, so they'd be the most likely suspects, though that may depend on how well their BD of A Farewell to Arms sold.

They're great editions in fantastic packaging. Would much rather wish for the stuff we don't have out on blu yet.

I'd be all over MoC releases of those three films, I'm a big Borzage/Gaynor/Farrell fan and it would be nice to see some English special features for them. I do love the French editions I have though, really nice releases with good booklets etc. even they are all in French.
