my copy of the usa release of this has shipped. quite early, and not likely in response to the korean edition appearing - pieta usa bd has also shipped - as actually released at the end of the month, and it's usually been the case with discs shipping worldwide to get this situation.

I think Korean version has lot more special features and... way better packaging than US version IMO

I received the US release of this film last Friday, to review it for Hi-Def Ninja. I have to say, i really loved it. I went into it, being fully aware of the director's previous work, and his collaboration with Kim Jee-woon when he wrote the screenplay for "I Saw The Devil". Obviously, this is a very different piece, but it's definitely a great film. Choi Min-sik is as good as ever!

Audio commentary and deleted scenes. None of which are English friendly. The only differences are in packaging and price.

Is the US release on a BD-50? Well-Go seem to port a lot titles across and then re-compress them to fit on a BD-25, with less then optimum results.

It's my favorite movie of the year so far. Absolutely loved it. I may just double dip on it.

I always prefer the Asian edition to the U.S. The American edition has typical sub standard packaging whereas the Asian is super quality.
I will be getting mine from Yesasia.

Yes, I received it a little over two weeks ago from kimchi. Shipping was on or shortly after the 8th.

Thanks for the pic. Think I must have seen the 30th on either K2DVD or Yesasia. I was waiting for more info/pics and was waiting for it's release, not realising it already came out on the 8th.

Apologies for all the questions but I'm wondering if those that have this already could comment on the quality of the Eng subs?

I'm torn between getting the US release ($15) or the Korean release ($30). I'm fine paying extra for the better packaging and to support Korean distributors but if the subs will be inferior I'd rather get the cheaper release if the subs are better on that.

I think I remember The Thieves had decent subs, which was also a KDMedia release so I'm hoping for more of the same here.

In my experience, Well Go subs are not great. As if they've been done by someone with English as a second language, which doesn't sound too far out, I guess. They actually reminded me a lot of what I saw on The Berlin File, which is my only CJ release as of yet.
