Gunsmoke: The Final Season Price Increase and Backorder

Just noticed that on Amazon. Gunsmoke: The Final Season went up from 34.99 to 49.99.. Also many many other sites are showing it back ordered.. What has happened with this release?? Is Amazon the only place getting it and thus price jacking to get the most out of it?

I've had mine on order with Deep Discount for a few months now. I'm not sure if they received stock or not before deciding to change the status to back ordered.

In my experience with Amazon, I believe that when they have enough orders to meet their expected initial allotment they automatically shift it back to full price. That's probably what happened here. Maybe CBS got behind on shipping out the stock.

I always figured they jacked the prices back up when everyone else who was selling it for a competitive price went out of stock.

So, everyone who was selling it for $34.99 went OOS? Amazon jacks the price up to $50 because they're the only game in town.
