Default Anyone else not excited about the Black Friday deals this year?

Prices aren't as good as they used to be and the titles are lacking. Star Trek Beyond and Nice Guys are the only 2 I am excited for and I still think I am paying to much for them when they go on sale at Target.

There are plenty of deals that dont go in print so you will score more than yo have planned for.

The 3D offerings are way way low....

Deals are as good as ever, except for the lack of 3D. Not to mention tons more unannounced titles show up on BF at all the B&M retailers as well as Amazon.

The difference for me is that I am more selective about what I buy on blu, as many I am happy with just having on UV.

Some prices could be slightly lower, but I can't complain about the variety of titles spread across all the ads this year, even if I happen to own many of them in my collection. Many people do not yet own them, and I understand that.

We still haven't seen what Amazon, Fry's and Deep Discount have to offer, in addition to the unadvertised deals that Walmart tends to have.

I gave up buying day one price Blus a few years back, so there's always tons of deals. I only buy random rare stuff thru the year, so every Black Friday I stock up on at least 25 mainstream discs.

I've noticed that people that buy something every other one of the 51 weeks of the year always saw there are no deals.

Don't buy anything for those 51 weeks, things look way better for deals imo.

Huge backlog so I'm really just looking forward to the timed deals that Amazon usually does a bit later in the week.

And like others there are some 3D titles that I am waiting for.

And wouldn't it be nice if Guardians of the Galaxy would go on sale even once, two years now after it was in theatres? The UK has had that title on sale plenty of times.

Agreed. Plus it is still early in the week. I did pick up one so far: Shutter Island for $5 as a blind buy today. First purchase of this holiday season.

I feel the same way. Hopefully Walmart and Amazon will be good for a few surprises on Black Friday.

To be fair though, I got a headstart thanks to Target, so I'm actually a little bit ahead of where I'd normally be at this point in the week on Black Friday Week.

- The Imitation Game: $5 (with Cartwheel)
- Eddie the Eagle: $6

I paid a little bit less because there was a 10% off coupon on Sunday (which really didn't add much of a discount on these, so don't feel bad if you missed it) and I used a gift card to shave a little more off the price for Eddie.

Yep, This year I held off on everything but Steelbook or Digibook releases I wanted and have only bought TV Shows during Black Friday/Christmas sales now for two years in a row.

Between BB & Target (mostly BB) there's plenty of $4 & $6 options. I'm only buying 4 from BB since I have most everything I want now. It feels good to only be dropping $20 on discs tonight, plus another $10 on a Xbox 360 game. If I was a new collector I would easily be dropping $100+ on discs.

If you're not excited about the deals, it's probably just due to not being excited about the movies that came out this year.

BB's definitely got me spending more on movies this year than I thought. I only bought a handful last year but a lot of TV series. This year, it's the opposite. There's been a handful of TV shows that made me bite on them for just the right price, but the prices aren't super cheap. Then again, it remains to be seen what slips in that isn't advertised. Some great deals came down between Thanksgiving and Christmas, to be sure.
