Default What's your favorite theme park?

One of the (few) good things about living in Florida is the wide variety of theme parks. I've been to Disney World a few times and loved it as a kid, although if I go now I don't know if it'll give me that white-knuckle feeling. I have the annual pass for Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures and those parks are pretty great. As a movie lover it's pretty cool to go to a theme park that's basically all about movies.

So, what's your favorite?

Edit: I realize I should've posted this in the Travel sub-forum. Sorry mods!

Disneyland for sure. Always went as a kid, I refuse to go to Disney World. Sorry morningtoke.

My favorite park is Fenway Park, of course. With all the characters you see at Fenway, it's almost as good as any theme park.

I've been to Disney World several times with the kids quite a few years ago. We've also been to Sea World in Orlando, and Busch Gardens in Tampa. My favorite would have to be Disney World. So much atmosphere and things to do, it's unbelievable. We had a great time.

Cedar Point is by far my favorite it terms of roller coasters, but I would probably go with Disney World as my favorite overall theme park.

Definitely Disneyland/California Adventure. I love the thrills, but it's the theme that brings the most joy for me. Walking around the place with Disney characters and these beautifully themed lands is just awesome. It's been a long time since I've last visited, but it really is the place that makes me the most happy, despite how ridiculous the crowds can get.

If I just want pure thrills, then Six Flags is great. Also been a very long time since I've last gone though. I remember going to Magic Mountain and not even having time for anything but roller coasters. It's a blast for sure.

Last park I've been to was a water park two years ago. Those are always fun too.

I've never been a fan of rides or theme parks. Just not an adrenaline junkie I suppose

Disneyland all the way! Never have been to DisneyWorld and I don't think I ever will. Disneyland is a short 6 hour drive away, thankfully.

Disney World.

I prefer places where I can have just as much enjoyment walking around and taking pictures. At Cedar Point, you ride the two biggest roller coasters and then spend the rest of the day bored because none of the other rides are exciting. I just get bored with roller coasters after a while.

Universal is a lot of fun too, especially the Islands of Adventure. I need a theme park with as much design and atmosphere than big rides.

WDW hands down. Maybe it's because I'm older and going to Disney is more of an experience than just going to an amusement park for the rides.

I've been to Disney enough times that I don't have to ride all the rides. I can eat at different restaurants each time. There are other things to do whether it's Downtown Disney or the Water Parks.

I live near Six Flags in NJ and I've been recently to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. But that's always going to be a 1 day thing. If you're looking to spend a day, at an amusement park those are options.

I've never been to Cedar Point but that seems to be similar to Six Flags.

I was to Sea World once years ago, but because of the recent documentary and that it shares the same city as Disney and Universal, it's always going to be at best a distant 3rd option.

Universal is in between Disney and Six Flags. There's 2 parks and Citi Walk, but I can't see myself spending more than 3 days there at most.

So again, it's Disney for me.

The name is BUSCH gardens not Bush gardens...

More appropriate question that you seem to be asking here is your favorite theme park chain because you don't specify specific parks other than the Universal, Disney and Cedar Point

For instance Six Flags has some parks that are pretty amazing and some that completely suck. The Cedar Fair Parks are the same way

You also leave off a lot of good parks...

My favorite Park is Cedar Point though I have soft spot in my heart for my home park growing up BUSCH Gardens Williamsburg, as well as Holiday World, Six Flags Magic Mountain

Enjoyed Universal in Orlando ,Disney not so much.
The Halloween Horror nights are a must see for Horror movie fans.
I liked how the rides were mostly in front of massive screens, the Simpsons one was especially good

Disney World - given that there's plenty to do for those that get sick on roller coasters. I survived Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, but only barely just to say I rode it once.

Living in California, there's plenty of amusement parks around.
I've been to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World, and Lego Land, but out of all of them, Disneyland will always be on the top.
I've been an annual passholder for the last four years, it's worth every penny to be honest. But, I've encountered some really bad moments in the last two years and thats getting treated poorly by cast members like being yelled at -
[Show spoiler]it happened a couple weeks ago, I was with my friend and her family and we decide to stop and look at the new window displays they have on Main Strt and this cast member came up to us and said "I'm not going to tell you again, you guys need to move!" and we were in shock that we were being yelled at especially when we were unaware we had to move or that he was telling us to move previously.
- but even in the bad times, I still have a really good time at Disney seeing my favorite Disney characters in the parks. I absoultely love Fantasmic! so that show is worth the ticket price alone.

I hope I can go to Disney World in the next few years, it's been a dream of mine and I just really want to see how amazing it is and how it compares to Disneyland, which has been my family's vacation when I was a child.
Hopefully I can go next year!

Disney World, for sure. I love Universal (heading there next week for Halloween Horror Nights & both parks during the day, + Epcot Food & Wine!), but Disney holds crazy memories for me:
  1. Had many great family vacations there as a boy
  2. First kissed my wife (then best friend in high school) at Grad Night '94 in Disney World, right when we met up at the entrance. It was one of those "Hey I'm so excited to see you!" spur of the moment kisses, but felt like something else...
  3. When we started dating many years later (lost touch after school), I bought her a snowglobe that Disney releases once a year with the year on it and a version of Mickey and Minnie celebrating winter/holidays. The first one was in 2009, and I've bought her every year ever since.
  4. Proposed to my best friend (now wife) in the Crystal Palace for lunch. I pulled out all the stops, got her this huge princess basket with a crystal slipper that we got engraved with the engagement date and our names right there in the park
  5. Our wedding cake topper was a glass figurine of Mickey in a tux holding Minnie in a bride's dress. We have a few versions of that statue around our house. I also wore it as a Disney pin we bought in downtown Disney on my vest that day.
  6. For our first anniversary, since the traditional gift is paper, I bought her stock in Disney and had it professionally framed. It hangs in our bedroom.
  7. Took our daughter there for her 2nd birthday. Her bedroom is decked out in all Disney.
  8. And of course, there is my extensive Disney BR collection

Probably won't go back until our daughter is a bit older, but looking forward to our next visit!
