External HD, Ipod And Ps3 Help?

last night i hooked my external hard drive up to the playstation 3 and i must say i was so happy most of my files worked.. both porn and audio.. here is my question. The audio files that are on my external hard drive are my ipod back up files some have pictures and some have just letters as names and they are arranged in f00 f01 exc but on my ipod itself they are all correctly catagorized . My question is how do i get all then file names and pictures up correctly. I know denon makes a ipod dock for the receiver that i have but if i get that dock will audio sound great like it does off my external because i have a monster cable that i hook the ipod up to that goes to my receiver and it sounds horrible no bass responce and static. As with the porn 95 percent of it plays and its sound great but some divx files wont play any suggestions thanks.
Also what would happen if i hooked my ipod directly up to my playstation 3 via usb would that work?

I have the Denon dock for my receiver (AVR-2807) and it's great! I had the same issue with the file names and haven't found an answer to this question.

Sorry, can't help you with the porn. I have a 9 year old son and the last thing I need is for him to be learning about the birds and bees while trying to play Sonic the Hedgehog.

how is the sound quality and customization with the ipod dock. do you get 5.1?

I only use it for music. It transfers everything via two RCA audio cables so I doubt it's sending anything other than sterio music. I'm not at home right now so I can't say for sure. All I know is I didn't think Ipod music could sound this good.

Edit: Although, I do know the sub woofer does kick in on some of the songs that need it so maybe that's a clue. As you can tell, I'm not an audiophile.

ok thanks if you can please let me know if i does play 5.1 and if there is atleast some bass response from the sub on all the songs.
