CinemaNow dropped by/dropping UV?

Even though logging into CinemaNow still show UV and your Library, I noticed there is no mention of CinemaNow on UV's site.

They are no longer listed as a Streaming and Download Services retailer.

No mention of them anywhere. Sign of things to come?

I would not at all be surprised to see them shut down. It's a shame, though. They have a great name. CinemaNow is a great streaming name. Other than that, they don't offer anything unique or competitive. Survival of the fittest.

A few weeks ago the ability to redeem UV codes on Cinemanow seemed to have disappeared, but it is back now.
Maybe they were in negotiations and MYUV left them out or maybe MYUV forgot them when they 'upgraded' their servers.

They are still supported in My UV:

And they still sell UV compatible films including Storks and Suicide Squad. I doubt CinemaNow is dropping UV support. More like they want to push their service first for the revenue. Especially since Vudu has Walmart's support and FandangoNow has Fandango, T-Mobile, and even Best Buy behind them.

I've had the same issues. My UV locker wasn't updating on CinemaNow, so i followed CinemaNow's advice of Unlink-relink the UV account, and now all my movies are gone. Emailed Customer Support, as that's all i could do and they said this:

"Apologies for any issues with UltraViolet titles in your library! We are currently experiencing some issues related to UltraViolet linking.

During this time you may experience inconsistencies with your library and an interruption of playback, purchase, and redemption on cinemanow.com and the CinemaNow device applications. We hope to have these functions repaired soon. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

If you still have a question, please reply to this ticket and we will get back to you shortly. "


It's been 3-4 days already. It would really be nice to watch the movies i've purchased.

It's been 3-4 days already. It would really be nice to watch the movies i've purchased.

Was this ever resolved? My whole CinemaNow collection has been missing for weeks except for a few TV shows. Even movies I purchased from CinemaNow are not showing up.

I would try logging in again.

I had the same problem for a bit after the UV update messed everything up, but it took a lot longer to fix than on VUDU, and I had the same thing with a ton of missing movies and not even showing my account as linked to UV. But then I logged in a few days ago and it showed that account linked again and everything there. And to test it a bit further, I tried to redeem the Sully UV code in Cinemanow (redemptions weren't working when the account was having problems) and it worked and ported over to VUDU right away.

Thanks! It seems to be working again after unlinking/relinking, then logging in/out. I have done this so many times so maybe it just got fixed but seems to be loading my account now.
