I started this to be a quasi-repository for Information about The Last Wave being released (with hope) by Criterion or whoever in the U.S..
I've read a bit on other Threads, but a lot of the Information seems to contradict other information. The Word is: The Last Wave was scanned in 4K for the Umbrella release last month. Simon Sherry says that Umbrella's release "is a restoration produced by Umbrella" and assumably not Criterion... but... It's also said that "Criterion/Janus Films (who owns this title in the US) had reportedly completed a 4k restoration," and were "set to screen it in April" 2020. But... the version being shown on the Criterion Channel is copyrighted 2000. |
