Netflix is working on a Sequel-Series to Teen-Drama "One Tree Hill" which orginally aired form 2003 to 2012, first on The WB and then on The CW. Original stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are behind the Sequel-Series as Executive Producers and also going to star in the show as their characters Brooke and Peyton. Along with Bethany Joy Galeotti, Bush and Burton also host a weekly "One Tree Hill"-Rewatch Podcast. In an episode for season 6 I just listened to a couple of days ago, the pair mentioned, that a sequel series could focus on their characters kids' story and they could be along for it as the parents and the first description of the show sounds exactly like that.
The sequel is said to take place 20 years later following best friends Brooke and Peyton who are now parents to teens and facing challenges not unfamiliar to what they tackled in the original series like love, insecurities and grief, we understand. Mark Schwahn who was the showrunner of the original seris is not going to be involved with the sequel. A few years ago it was revealed that he behaved inappropriatly during the production of "One Tree Hill" and others shows he produced. Some of the events that Burton, Bush and Galeotti mentioned on the Podcast over the years about this are pretty horrible. Becky Hartman Edwards will take over als Writer/Producer for Schwahn. https://deadline.com/2024/08/one-tre...ix-1236073973/ Last edited by Cap.T; 08-30-2024 at 07:36 PM. |

Burton and Bush posted a joined statement about the Sequel-Series on their Social Media-Plattforms:
What if you really can go back home? If there’s an opportunity to team with brilliant creatives and build a space where all our friends can show off their talents? Own our history? Reclaim our turf? Honor our fans? Sign us up, There’s only one Tree Hill, after all. And you — the #OTHfam — have shown us that it’s not just an idea. It really is the place where ‘everything’s better and everything’s safe.' https://deadline.com/2024/08/sophia-...es-1236074707/ |
