Back in November of 2017, Collider, a combination of a website and a YouTube channel that is dedicated to entertaininment news, began releasing one entry per weekday of its list of the top 50 superhero movies of all those that had ever been made by then. The list has been compiled based on votes from its staff, which include Kristian Harloff, Steve Weintraub, Mark Ellis, Perri Nemiroff, Emma Fyffe, Thadd Williams, Dennis Tzeng, Josh Macuga, John Rocha, Clarke Wolfe, Mark Reilly, Jon Schnepp, and many more.
At this point in time, there remains only the top four films to be revealed, which means that on Friday, January 12th, the countdown to number one will be completed. So, do you agree with the positions of certain movies on this list? Do you think that some movies are positioned too lowly or too highly? Also, which films do you think will be revealed to be positioned in ranks four through one, and which films do you think deserve to be positioned in ranks four through one? For your convenience, I've reproduced the list according to their YouTube channel's playlist of the list, which you can see below. Collider's List of The Top 50 Superhero Movies 50. I'm not saying it's an amazing movie but how can they not include some good wacky fun like Infra-Man (1975) on a list that has room for crud like Power Rangers (2017) and Man of Steel (2013)?

And I feel Watchmen and Man of Steel are too far down on the list. And Spider-Man: Homecoming edging out Batman Begins annoys me. |

Man of Steel is a masterpiece of a movie (IMO), as a standalone movie. BvS and JL turned Superman into a joke, but that doesn't alter MoS' spectacular visuals, cast, story, costume design and soundtrack. It's also my go-to Superman movie, I like it better than any previous Superman movie to date. I have watched it more times than any other Superman movie also.
Oh and Incredibles deserves to be near the number one spot also. Great movie as well! Not sure why The Amazing Spider-Man 2 isn't on that list either. I enjoyed the second one way more than the first movie. ![]() Last edited by kylor; 01-08-2018 at 07:57 PM. |

Thoughts:
1. Power Rangers has no business being Top 50 of anything never mind a superhero movie list. 2. Incredible Hulk at #44 is ridiculous, it is one of the best superhero movies of all time, I'm talking top 10, not barely coming in at #44. 3. Hellboy is leaps better than Hellboy 2. 4. Blade is better than Blade 2. Heck, Blade 3 is better than Blade 2. 5. Ant-Man higher than the first Captain America? Okay, I'm starting to think this list is a joke. 6. Chronicle at #24...okay joke confirmed. 7. Spider-Man 2 is still the best Spider-Man movie ever, Homecoming be damned. I could say more about the rankings that are already out, but that's enough for now. As far as the last four, I would love to say Howard the Duck or Daredevil (okay, okay I'm joking...sorta). But I'm pretty sure it includes the first Avengers movie, Captain America: Civil War and the Dark Knight. The fourth one, not sure. EDIT: Logan makes perfect sense, I'm not sure why it slipped my mind for a second. |

Didn't realize it was that reviled.
After thinking over it some more, I'm not actually sure Dredd should count. He may be heroic and he may be based on a comic book, but he's hardly superpowered. Both movies always struck me as just sci-fi action flicks, plain and simple. So maybe it's fine where it is. ![]() |
