Entertainment One have revealed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray director Jeff Nichols' Mud (2013), starring starring Matthew McConaughey, Tye Sheridan, and Jacob Lofland. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is September 2.

American drama starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon. With nothing else to do for the summer, Ellis (Sheridan) and Neckbone (Lofland) take to exploring the banks of the Mississippi where they find a boat nestled in a tree. As they begin making plans to use the boat, they quickly realise that someone is living in it and it isn't long before they're introduced to its owner, Mud (McConaughey). A relationship forms between the three and Mud promises to let the boys have the vessel if they continue bringing him food and help him reunite with his lost love, Juniper (Witherspoon). But when they agree to help, they soon realise that Mud is a wanted man and that a gang of bounty hunters are in hot pursuit...

One of the best films I've seen so far this year and I can't wait to watch it again - day one purchase for me!

I was mostly taken aback that Mr. McCanaughey can act!! I normally cannot stand him (I'm a girl but, he seems to always find an excuse to take his shirt off in every movie...this one not immune from that) But the script is wonderful and he did a remarkable job with the character. The child actor was also quite amazing! Definitely getting this one.

Me too! Joint-best with Zero Dark Thirty for me. Day one no doubt about it! For once they have done the artwork well too

Agree'd. His whole romcom thing got stale and I'm glad that he didn't continue on with it because it's what he's used to, and become the next actor everyone enjoys making fun of (as if we haven't been making fun of him/his lack of acting skills/his excuses to remove his shirt for years anyway).

He did the right thing by taking a career turn. He's been on quite a roll with The Lincoln Lawyer, Bernie, Killer Joe, The Paperboy, Magic Mike and Mud.

While not all of them have been amazing, his performances in each have been committed and powerful. He hasn't quite transformed his image into one of the best in hollywood but suprisingly he's really climbing that ladder.

Really enjoyed Take Shelter so I'm looking forward to more of Nichols' work. Interesting cast choice too.
