Default Your Favorite Steven Seagal Movies?

Here's mine. Make sure to give reasons!

1) Above the Law. This may not be his best "movie" per say, but it has the best Aikido showcasing around. I'll debate anyone to the end of time, but Seagal CAN be a good actor, just watch this film. The reason why his acting is genuine in this movie is because he acts natural, and does very little (very little goes along ways). There's no Seagal "ego" here, it's just all raw. In conclusion, his first film, his best acting, and his best Aikido. He's also in his best shape here.

2) Fire Down Below. This is a cult favorite for me. I absolutely love the music all through it, and it just feels like a very campy and happy movie to kick back on a friday night with a beer. I love this one.

3) Hard to Kill. Awesome revenge movie. This one is good.

4) On Deadly Ground. Awesome, cheesy, awesome, awesome. Seagal gets in REALLY good shape here, almost to where he was in Above the Law. This is a cult favorite for many. Blu-ray please?

5) Under Siege. Other then Seagal being out of shape and more of a "gunner" here, it's a solid action movie. Not one of his best showcasing by any means though. Gury Bussey is awesome and weird here too.

Honorable Mentions

* Marked for Death - The DVD transfer sucks because of the letterboxing, but this is by far his most violet film. I like this movie a lot, and I'll like it more seeing it on Blu-ray in it's full aspect to better assess it.

* Under Siege 2 - It's alright.

* Out for Justice - People probably will like this one a lot. I can't stand his acting on this one. They gave him way too many monologues and remember what I said...a little goes a long ways with Seagal.

* Urban Justice - I actually kinda like the old and mad Seagal. We just need to see it in a good production movie.

Sorry - but I have to bring my Seagal Emotion Chart to the thread;

Having gotten that out of the way, I liked his early stuff culminating with Under Siege.

I have always just enjoyed his early movies because they entertain me. Seagal always seemed like a force that was unstoppable. His Aikido was something we'd never really seen before on screen and he made everything so smooth and seem so easy and fluid. I love his first couple films, Above the Law being my favorite and the one I watch the most. When I was a kid, my parents always seemed to be watching Hard to Kill and Under Siege, so I just grew up loving them cause it was something we all watched together. His movies remind me of my early childhood and something I grew up with, kind of like Nintendo, just things that remind me of being a kid, some families watched Full House, mine watch Seagal.

Haha, I love that chart. I have it saved on my computer somewhere...

However, I'll have to reiterate, that chart doesn't apply to Above the law and Seagal demonstrates a lot of natural emotions. Every other movie though, yep.

I'm surprised nobody has said this one already... none.

I mean, come on. He's not making it very easy to take him seriously.

Reality show... on A&E - whatever that is. Talk about rock-bottom. When an actor is forced to move to reality-type shows, that's mostly an indicator that said actor is not that good at, well, acting.

He's a good nobrain actionfest evening star.Always good for a laugh.My favs are Under siege and Out for justice.The latter for that epic fight at the end.That was hillarious

On a sidenote here:John C McGinley was good in On deadly ground

Only has one decent movie under his belt:Under siege IMO.

Either Under Seige for the birthday cake scene
or Executive Decision because he isn't it that much.

Marked For Death

remember seeing it in theaters with my dad.

"One thought he was invincible, the other thought he could fly."
"So?"
"They were both wrong."
