Default Freedom of Speech - Deleting legitimate Postings

Before I start with my concern , I would like to say I am not a native English speaker and I want to apologize in advance for grammar errors and spelling mistakes.

I am referring to the Blu-ray Movies - International - German section

Since the end of last week, Threads in this section with the Studio Cinespectral Films involved get closed or totally disappear and absolute legitamte User postings get deleted.

It all started with closing this Thread last week. It was announced that it should be reopened this Monday, but that did never happen.

If you are not familiar with what is going on, I would like to give you an example.

This Thread has been shut down today and postings have been deleted.

Here is a Screenshot just moments before the Thread was closed and edited. I marked the deleted postings. Watch yourself.

These postings were absolutely fine in my optinion. Me for example just asked if we can get a statement from blu-ray.com from what is going on right now.

Here are my questions.

1. Did an official blu-ray com Moderator delete all those posting, or did you give administration rights to Cinespectral Films?

2. For what reason are so many Threads closed and postings deleted?

I know that we, the users are just guests of this forum and we have to respect decisions made by blu-ray.com officials but I would really like to have some answers.

Update: Elvira Thread has been reopened by a Super Moderator. Thank you

It looks like Cinespectral Films may be reporting the threads, and a mod seems to be allowing the threads to close for who knows what reason. I don't see anything in those threads to warrant them being closed. The discussions have been completely civil from what I'm seeing. As far as I know Cinespectral doesn't own this site, and people should be allowed to voice complaints where they see fit here. Allowing them to control the narrative is hardly fair.

The "official" CF thread is open again. Elvira thread is still locked.

Well, this it not the official Thread. The Thread was called "The OFFICIAL Cinespectral Films Studio Discussion thread" and that is still "lost" since yesterday.

Another Thread from yesterday is gone. "The unofficial(do not close this)Cinespectral Films thread". Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot from this one.
Instead of transfering the comments (10-15 if I remember right) from there to another Thread they are all gone. In my view the postings did not violate any forum rule. Just a civil conversation of worried customers. The Thread was only opened from a user, because all other had been closed at this time.

We got a first statement from a Moderator. So I guess I have to be quit now, or I get suspended. I really thought we could discuss this like grown up people. But like I said, I respect decisions made from the staff.

People will always have different opinions and members should be allowed to discuss valid concerns, but it does seem, at times, there are some individuals who will report posts simply because the posts disagree with their own view or they feel it puts [insert someone or something] in a bad light (even if it is warranted). Unfortunately, the perspective is, at times, that posts get removed or discussion gets squashed simply because the site gets tired of having to respond to constant reported posts and at times it might be the easier of the two to address. If there was a valid reason why posts were reported that is one thing, but if posts are simply being reported based on what I mentioned above then this could be considered abused of the reporting system and then those individuals, in my opinion, should be addressed rather than adversely affecting the thread discussion.

Labels do not dictate what threads are to be kept open or closed. The threads created on Blu-ray.com belong to the site itself and to its members...labels have no input on the moderation of forum threads/discussion.

The thread in question is open and I will be monitoring it. We understand the frustration associated with the releases in question and the need for members to post and vent. However, we do requiere for members to refrain from abusive or insulting posts. Also, we ask for members not to spam the thread with repetitive postings.

Thanks.

Glad that the threads are open again. However, it is still disappointing that there are legitimate posts that were deleted and not restored. If the mods were getting tired of dealing with too many reported posts, then maybe something should be done about the user abusing the reporting feature.

Valid posts will not be taken offline hence forth...members have the right to raise their legitimate concerns with the situation. The thread is to remain open at all times for discussion.

I will be restoring posts as needed later today.

Thank you Blu Titan, for responding and take care of the situation.

I guess I can speak for many users by saying your efforts are highly appreciated.

I also thank you Blu Titan.....thanks for restoring the thread....and I apologize for my remarks if someone found them offensive....You all have a tough job and I would never risked getting kicked off of here for Cinespectral or any other company.

The Elvira thread is very useful. People are helping each other figure out the complex PayPal refund process. That alone makes it worth it.
