Default Am I the only one that is weary of comic book movies?

Over the last several years I have purchased most of the comic book based movies that have been produced particularly the MCU variety and frankly I feel like I'm overdosing. As a kid I was a huge comic book collector so seeing all my favs in live action with great special effects and competent story telling and acting has been a treat. However I now find myself growing sick of them it seems every time I turn around there is a new one, I need more films like 3 Billboards, I think I will start adding to my Criterions. Any one else feel this way???

I hear this all the time, the thing that keeps me from overloading on them is I only see the ones that appeal to me and avoid the rest.

I gave up on the MCU with "Thor: The Dark World". Franchise films in general have burnt me out, the only franchise I'm still dedicated to seeing in theaters is James Bond.

Comic movies are pretty much my main interest in movies at the moment. If not for the MCU/comic/franchise films then I'd probably revert back to being only an anime fan.

I still regularly purchase comic books each week but rarely have any sort of a desire to see any of the Comic Movies. I've been a Huge X-men fan for years and years and have always had a pretty good idea of what was going on in the rest of the Marvel and DC universes but almost none of the MCU films have appealed to me. I sort of checked out around Iron Man 2 and have only seen a few here or there since, despite having picked most of them up. I like the idea of the MCU, but I don't like the way they are cranked out. I loved the Christopher Nolan Batman films, and to be honest those are really the last releases that I got excited about.

Superhero movies are great when they are one of several summer offerings. However now that they've become the dominant film genre I miss the variety that used to be seen during the summer months. I don't want them to go away completely, but it'd be nice to see a bit more time between releases and a bit more variety in the summer lineups to spice things up.

No, because I only watch the comic book movies I'm interested in. No room for weariness this way.

As long as Marvel keeps making movies as good as the ones that have been released over the past year, then I’m still aboard.

DC Comics movies fall into the fun, but flawed popcorn movie end of the spectrum.

Not weary yet, I think Batman1980 said it best: so many of them just means I watch the ones I want (which is still most of them).

Left too soon, they improved quite a bit (for the most part) after that.

if you're tired of a certain kind of movie, why not just not watch them??

if you like them, keep watching them. seems pretty simple to me.

The last superhero movie I watched was TDKR. That about says it all for me.

I’m very selective when it comes to comic book movies. The Crow, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Watchmen and Dredd are the only films that I own.

Yeah I'm pretty burned out on them. They kind of all mesh into one big movie in my mind. Last one I genuinely liked was Thor: Ragnarok.

My only problem is that there's too much focus on superhero bullshit. Remember 10 to 15 years ago when we'd get a variety of flicks like Sin City, Ghost World, V for Vendetta, American Splendor?!

Marvel Studio's is killing it with their big screen stuff but they aren't interested in doing small scale projects for Netflix. Sure, they do Daredevil and Jessica Jones but why not some one off movies, I mean, there's DECADES of content there that could be adapted.

What really disappoints me is that there's almost no interest in Horror. I wish Disney would buy up the EC Comics collect and do a new Tales from the Crypt show or even an series of anthology films.

On Gilligans Island why do they have all those clothes for a 3 hr tour ??
And what's the deal with the Professor ??
He can make a radio out of a coconut, but he can't fix a hole in the boat ??
And the Skipper and Gilligan, what is the deal there ??
Why don't they date Mary-Ann ??
I'm starting to wonder about that "Little Buddy" stuff !!

You dont have to watch them or buy them. You know that right? If you're tired of something or dont like it then just dont be involved with it. It's really that simple.

Lots of stuff I dont like but dont feel the need to alert the internet about them all.

If people spent more time focusing on what they do enjoy instead of what they dont this would be a much nicer world to live in.

Most of the movies I buy are Comic Book Movies but like Batman1980 says I only get the ones I actually like. No need to buy every movie unless you really want a full collection like every MCU movie.
