Ok... the situation is this. My Samsung blu ray player plays everything perfectly... except for 20th century fox blu ray discs. I mean they play sure, but every movie I've put in New and old, it would have slight moments of image stuttering. It would skip slightly then move for another second at a slower speed before catching up to normal. Not a frequent encounter but does do it like 4 or 5 times throughout the runtime. I've tried so many things from resetting, shutting off 24fps, turning off internet service options, firmware, cleaned the lenses. Nothing worked. A good guess would be the anti-piracy technology that Fox uses within the disc that is affecting playback.
Is there anyone here with any knowledge or troubleshooting advice before I have to UGH call Samsung? What the hell is going on with my player? Thank you. |

The problem is almost certainly the firmware, but Samsung may not have updated it recently. Unfortunately, a lot of manufacturers don't bother updating firmware when a model goes out of production. You might try emailing Samsung and tell them your problem and encourage them to do a firmware update. But odds are, if it's a big problem, it might be time for a new player.
