Default The Goonies - movie-only version (without the swag) - coming October 18

The Goonies Blu-ray

According to both WBshop.com and Walmart.com, there's finally a movie-only edition of The Goonies being released in the US. Looks like it's scheduled for October 18, and currently available for pre-order at walmart.com for only $9.86!!

With free Movie Money to Happy Feet 2 (probably $7.50). So great deal for those who care. I blind bought the box set for $6, and I still haven't watched the damn thing...

Not being born yet is no excuse...

Just keep in mind that the movie was targeted towards kids/family in the 80s, so you'll be watching it 26 yrs later as an adult! it may not "work" for you. Not even sure if it's something today's 8-12 yr olds would enjoy...

My two younger brothers in that age range sure did. Some movies are timeless and Goonies is one of those.

I got my $6 set also and haven't watched it all the way through. I put it in and watched the first 15-20 minutes to see how good it looked. I didn't remember the beginning that well so it was cool to see it; I need to watch the rest of it now .

There is a song titled The Goonies 'R' Good Enough by Cyndi Lauper made for the film since she was the musical director.

The Goonies 'R' Good Enough

here we are hanging onto strains of greed and blues
break the chain then we break down, oh, it's not real if you don't feel it
unspoken expectations, ideals you used to play with they've finally taken shape for us

what's good enough for you is good enough for me
it's good enough, it's good enough for me
yeah yeah yeah yeah
what's good enough for you is good enough for me
it's good enough, it's good enough for me
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

now you'll say you're startin' to feel the push and pull
of what could be and never can, you mirror me stumblin' through thise
old fashioned superstitions, i find too hard to break, oh maybe you're out of place

but it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me
it's good enough, it's good enough for me
yeah yeah yeah yeah
what's good enough for you is good enough for me
it's good enough, it's good enough for me
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah

but it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me
it's good enough, it's good enough for me
yeah yeah yeah yeah
what's good enough for you is good enough for me
it's good enough, it's good enough for me
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

I bought the swag box set when it was released. I don't even remember what I paid for it. I know I got a good deal. Lol. It's still sealed sitting on my shelf.

My 5 year old daughter just watched it for the first time last month, and she's asked to watch it again 2-3 times since then. So it's pretty universal. Aside from maybe the fashion, nothing in that movie is terribly dated.

No, he's not trolling. He even said he blind bought it but just hasn't watched it yet. I was jokingly giving him a hard time about having never seen it, and somehow that escalated with others chiming in and him defending himself.
Just be happy that he'll soon watch it, and we'll have another fan

At least read my posts in this thread before trying to label me a troll. I was just defending myself from an onslaught of people telling me how bad it is that I haven't watched The Goonies yet, which ironically made me less interested. If I'm a troll for posting in a thread and not having watched the film, even though I OWN IT, then I don't know what a troll is...but I suspect that you're really the one who doesn't. If you still smell a troll, then I suggest you take a bath. When have I once said anything negative about the film, or people who like it?
