I'm curious what Van Damme's role in this will be. According to Kickboxer 2 or 3 (I forget which) Van Dam's character was killed by Tong Po and the organized Crime syndicate he worked for, off camera during flash back of course. Are they going to ignore the events of the prior kickboxer films or will Van Damme play an entirely new character? Either way, I wish we could get the full series on Blu ray... after watching them all on El Rey Network earlier this year I'd love to pick up the full series.

This will be a sequel to Kickboxer: Vengeance, which is the remake of the original Kickboxer from 1989. In the remake, Van Damme plays the mentor and trains Alain Moussi's charater. He is not the lead, but a supporting role. He will reprise his role in Kickboxer: Retaliation. No idea how much screentime he will have, though.

Van Damme was partially dubbed for Kickboxer: Vengeance.

That's how little he or anyone involved cared about the film.

We're talking Steven Seagal levels of don'tgiveashittery.

I expect the sequel to be the same... or worse.
