Default Can BDXL compatible PC recorders read 4K UHD Blu-ray?

Hello there. I was wondering if anyone can give me a little help on this. I was looking at these two models from LG, WH14NS40, WH16NS40 and WH16NS60. They can burn BDXL triple layer 100GB and quad layer 128GB. I know there's no quad layer 128GB discs for UHD, but there is 100GB. Since these models can burn this type of media, logic sugest that it can read too. Right?

I'm asking because these models are a lot cheaper than the Pioneer BDR-211UBK, the only one officialy supporting the 4K UHD format.

I believe BDXL's are there own beast and they under the Blu-ray spec not the Ultra Blu-ray spec.

I think if you want to watch a UHD Blu-ray you need a UHD Blu-ray player for your PC.

You need a BD-ROM drive with the official "4K Ultra HD Blu-ray" logo in order for the drive to read that format. Most 4K Ultra HD drives for PC's also have the BDXL logo since they read and write up to 128GB BDXL. Old BDXL drives without the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray logo will not read 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.

WH16NS60 is 100% UHD BD certified. It will play 4k discs if your other HW is compatible. WH14/BH14 can do nothing. Other WH16/BH16 models can read UHD BD discs only if you are using hacking software to remove the protection, not recommended.
