Default Captain Toad

It's another Wii U port that I haven't played yet, but heard good things about it.

By far the Wii U game I wanted ported the most. Absolutely loved the original.

I absolutely hated these Toad parts being in Mario 3D World but the standalone Toad Treasure Tracker was a solid game.

Looks interesting. Definitely not for $60 though.

I'll give it a look when I can nab it for $30 just like Tropical Freeze.

The original released for $40 so this one will probably launch at that price as well

This game is seriously a lot better than it looks once you get it in your hands and actually play it. I'll happily buy it a second time.

I wonder how many Poople are buying the 3DS version?

Hopefully when they see more people buy it for the Switch, they will stop this nonsense of new 3DS games. Everyone I know is completely done with the 3DS.

I want Detective Pikachu on Switch.
I want Wario Ware on the Switch.
I want Samus Returns on the Switch.

I'm buying it on 3DS. What's nonsense about releasing games on a platform that had it's best December since 2014?

I meant the nonsense of releasing 3DS exclusives, without Switch counterparts.

Fire Emblem Warriors and Captain Toad are the only games they’ve done both. If they’re gonna release a 3DS game from this moment forward, it’s nonsense that they don’t also release a Switch version.

That way you people can still have your 3DS fun, and people like me that are done with that handheldcan enjoy the game on Switch. Both camps win then.

Good to know, that would make it $32 with GCU if it launched at $40.

I almost always wait for things to go on sale before buying as I'm not too impatient for most games/movies; but that kind of has to be adjusted when talking about Nintendo games since they hate dropping prices most of the time.

3DS will probably be closer to the Wii U gameplay since there are two screens.

I enjoyed this game on Wii Uand will definitely buy it, but I don’t know which system to get it for. Too bad Nintendo doesn’t do any sort of cross-buy, or discount one version if you buy the other.

Since Captain Toad ran on the Super Mario 3D World engine, I wonder how long until that game is ported to 3DS and/or Switch?

They did it for that one game, I forget what it was called.

I feel like they would have already announced it if it was coming. We've had two Directs this year, both of which have focused mainly on ports, and 3D World wasn't in either of them. It would be a good fit for Switch (the structure would work very well for a handheld, and the controls are simple enough that local co-op with just 2 Joy-Cons is feasible), but we would've heard about it by now if it was in production.

They did it for several actually. Mario vs Donky Kong: Tipping Stars is probably the most well known but they did it on several idies as well. Mutant Mudds and Olli Olli come to mind.

Tipping Stars is the one I was thinking of.

Right, I never bought any of those but, now that you mention it, I do remember hearing about it. It’s too bad Nintendo doesn’t formalize a cross-buy program. I suppose if they did, they’d get too many complaints from users who purchased VC titles on multiple Nintendo platforms.

Perhaps they don’t want to interrupt Super Mario Odyssey’s momentum? My fingers are crossed for an announcement at TGS.

That was my thought. Odyssey is still relatively new and I doubt Nintendo wants to do anything that might confuse people as to which title is *the* Mario title for Switch, or cannibalize Odyssey's sales.

But count me in on the list of those hoping for a 3D World port. That was a very enjoyable game.
