Default Dundee (2018) (Danny McBride, Paul Hogan)

Rimfire Films (producers of the first two Crocodile Dundee films) surprised everyone with this today, but no one knows exactly what it is. Is it a movie? A comedy skit? A web series? An Australian tourism ad?

Quote:
Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he’s missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under.

It’s time to live up to the family name.

Unlike his father, Brian grew up a true city kid. But that won’t stop him from picking up his dad’s oversized knife and launching into the Australian outback, completely unprepared for what lies ahead.

Now picture if they put an ounce of thought in the casting and they made this with Chris Hemsworth. Now that's a movie that people would have gone to see.

Are you kidding me? Danny McBride is the ONLY reason I have any interest in seeing this. Man is one of the very few comedic geniuses of this generation. If this was with Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't even be bothered to watch a 2 minute trailer.

No. Your post is funnier than most things McBride has done.

No way is this an actual movie. I think it's a teaser for a Super Bowl commercial.

This just came out of nowhere. I still question whether this is real or not.

The third was bad enough, and that was 17 years ago. The first film is a classic, and while some of the second was cheesy, its still very watchable. After that, the series went downhill.

If Linda Kozlowski was still in her prime, and taking her skirt off by a swamp.

The third was pretty lightweight but ultimately harmless. I still liked it just because Paul Hogan had such a charming presence as Dundee.

Hopefully, this is just a goof one-off skit or ad or something and not an actual movie.

I love the Crocodile Dundee Films, I am a huge fan of all of them. I am a huge fan of Danny Mcbride as well, he is vary funny imo and a great underrated actor. I think this will be great as long as it features decent screen time for Paul Hogan and not just a cameo at end. Not enough to judge yet off teaser. Looks like it will be funny though.

I got to ask if he (Crocodile Dundee's Son) Grew up in city "Brian grew up a true city kid" why is he (Danny Mcbride) sporting a terrible Australian accent. He should just talk normal like himself? Which he kind of does but he puts an accent on it.

And here I thought they were finally making a film about my home town.

Regarding the film.... when your teaser is that unfunny pull the plug.

I agree looks more like some kind of viral marketing toward a Super Bowl commercial, but who knows. If it is a film I'm almost certain it's not theatrical. Something like that would be Netflix at best

I’d watch that in a heartbeat on Netflix. It says in the trailer that it’s coming this summer, so I doubt it’s a teaser for a Super Bowl commercial.

Is it going to be worse than this?

Probably, but who knows for sure until it arrives. Until then:
