Just picked this up from BB. Haven’t watched it yet but I know if I made an effort to make an attractive cover with a specific color palette only to have a rotten tomatoes �� logo slapped on it, I’d be more than a little disappointed. Phooey on those who made that decision!

Posted this on the A24 topic, but figured I'd post here as well.

Watched First Cow and overall liked it, however I do feel a bit deceived. I expected MORE cow. I love cows and was hoping we finally had a movie about a cow. (There has been plenty horse films). The cow is barely in the film. Kinda sad about that, and yes I'm being serious.

The Blu-ray looked fine too.

Yeah, the movie isn't really about the cow. It's mostly about a friendship between two men, and the cow does play a part in that, but the cow isn't given much to do except provide her sweet milk for those delicious oily cakes.

The movie is a beautiful story about friendship, capitalism, and baking. As long as you're ready for something that's quiet, slow, and meditative. If you've seen at least a couple of Kelly Reichardt's other films, you probably have a good idea if this might be your cup of tea. Personally, I loved it.

Yeah, the film just caught me off guard as it wasn't what I was expecting. I've never seen any of the directors works, so I didn't have that going for me.

It's a fine made film, but I'm not sure I'd watch it again. It is on the slower side, and has almost no cow. I really wanted to believe there was a film that revolved around a cow as the cow is featured heavily on all promotional materials.

I’ve liked Kelly Reichardt other films, so the slow pace shouldn’t be an issue, but not delivering enough cow is giving me real pause on checking this out...

Reading Amazon reviews, seems there was/is an issue with the streaming version available. Something about white text all over the screen. Maybe they're trying to correct the issue
