does anyone know if a Panasonic uj265 bluray drive can read 4k bluray discs.

Nope it can't. I have it. It won't even detect the disc

UJ-265 isn't a UHD Friendly drive.

hahaha but the UJ 26x series is quite old now. They can read and write triple/quad layer Blu-Ray discs up to 128 GB but their firmware doesn't allow them to read the folder structure of 4K UHD Blu-Ray movie discs.

Sorry I might have made a mistake in my earlier post. The drive WILL be able to detect the disc but file explorer will just show a blank disc.
