synopsis:

Follows a young man named Albert and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War One. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend.

Let's hope for 7.1 with this. I look forward to seeing it that's for sure.

I'm a sucker for Spielberg films, so I'm planning on blind buying this. I'm suprised to see they're still doing the DVD case thing.

Instant pre-order. Really enjoyed this; Spielberg tapped into his Color Purple/Empire of the Sun roots and War Horse shows.

Empire of the Sun so needs a BD release as the DVD looks terrible.

Movie Stop had this down for April 3rd last I checked. Oh well, glad it's being released.

One of Spielberg's finest.

Isn't WB releasing Empire of the Sun in the UK this summer? If so, I'd have to think a U.S. release would be coming sometime soon. Would make for a likely digibook release, I would think.

I hope so since the digibooks look great lined up on the shelf.

If The Color Purple can get a digibook release then there's no excuse. I would also hope that Jaws gets a digibook as well.

I hate digibooks. I keep all my Spielbergs, Hitchcocks, Finchers, Polanskis, etc together in chronological order. The digibooks, Warner 2-disc cardboard DVD cases and snappers all stick out and block the titles next to them. I hope this is in a normal case. If not, I'll probably import from the UK like I did with THE COLOR PURPLE. The UK also got the original poster art on their BR of that film, which we didn't.

I'll be pre-ordering this as well! Great movie saw it at the movie theaters and it was awesome!

It's actually still in theaters. It's at four theaters within 50 miles of my house.

Great movie! Even for kids. It was like watching an old John Ford movie with visual references to Gone with the wind.
