"Ex machina"(saw in theaters on Memorial Day and enjoyed it thoroughly, a haunting film for sure) I pre-ordered and blind bought "it follows" and I am tempted to also purchase the "X-Men days of future past rogue cut"
This is by far the most anticipated release day I've had in quite some time ![]() |

Even though I got Ex Machina on my wishlist, I'll wait for a sale.
I got X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut on pre-order. Don't own the theatrical cut; I was holding out for this version. So that's it for Tuesday. I'm more excited for Wednesday, to see what Amazon's Prime Day will have for sale... |

Saw Ex Machina and It Follows in theaters so I can wait a bit for both. Don't have a strong desire to rewatch either so soon.
I'll be buying these new releases though: ![]() ![]() ![]() And I ordered an OOP copy of ZPG on dvd from an amazon third party seller ![]() |

It Follows and Ex Machina at target for me, saw both in theaters and loved them. More excited about It Follows actually. Both very memorable. Glad they're both relatively cheap so I can get them at once.

Ex Machina, X-Men Rogue, and I think this week is when Scott Sigler's new novel comes out. Sigler first, watch the movies this weekend maybe. (And if Amazon stays true to their recent shipping practices, I'll get these three items in three packages from three different shippers. How they make a dime is beyond me...)

Seriously though, it's been more than a whole year since I saw DOFP, and I know I'd like to see it again. Like I said, I held off on the original release because I knew the Rogue cut was coming. I had the 3D theatrical cut in my hands once at the store, but I still withheld getting it. My urge to own DOFP is still very strong, so the Rogue cut is a day-one buy for me. I feel Ex Machina can wait, because I just saw it in the theaters a few months ago. Even though I like and value the movie a lot, my urge to see it again and own it is not quite as strong right now. $14 is reasonable for the movie, I'm just not in a rush to get it right now. There are a number of other movies I feel this way about. And it's not like the movie's going OOP anytime soon; the same might be said for DOFP, but the fact that it's a different cut/edition entices me more than a standard release for a new movie. I might have ordered Ex Machina if it came as some kind of limited/special edition, but I missed out on preordering the Steelbook. Perhaps my thought processes are too complex for something as simple and mundane as movie buying, but really it's all about gut feeling and impulse. I feel strongly for getting DOFP right now; not so much for Ex Machina. |
