David Lowery and that cast? Count me in, although the story sounds not overly intriguing. But I'll give that article a read later.

But Lowery, Affleck and Redford are all on my yes list.

‘Old Man & The Gun’ Gets Release Date From Fox Searchlight

Old Man & The Gun has been slated for a fall, Oct. 5 release date by Fox Searchlight. The ensemble heist thriller led by Robert Redford and written and directed by David Lowery also stars Casey Affleck, Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover, Tom Waits, and Tika Sumpter. It will have a platform release as it is clearly being positioned for Awards season.

The Oct. 5 release date is currently occupied by Warner Bros. with its own Oscar hopeful A Star is Born. Other films on the date include Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff Venom and Fox proper’s Bad Times at the El Royale.

The film is based on the short story by David Grann published in 2003 in The New Yorker. The film is based on the true story of Forrest Tucker (Redford) who escaped from San Quentin at the age of 70 and the unprecedented string of heists that perplexed law enforcement and enamored the public. Pursuing Tucker was detective John Hunt (Affleck). Spacek plays the love interest of Tucker.

Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern, Condé Nast Entertainment’s Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler, Wildwood Enterprises, Identity Films’ Anthony Mastromauro, Sailor Bear’s Toby Halbrooks and James M. Johnston, and Bill Holderman all produce. Executive producers on the film are Julie Goldstein, Lucas Smith, Patrick Newall, and Tango Entertainment’s Tim Headington.

You mean after he won Best Actor for his 2016 performance in Manchester by the Sea? Nope. Because he made A Ghost Story the following year. Which may not have won awards, but was extremely critically praised and highly regarded.

And that was only last year. This one is this year. He's not slowing down. He's not going anywhere.
