I was so annoyed that they stopped after season 2, to the point where I was ready to just sell off the first two seasons and be done with it.
This is what they honestly should have done from the beginning. This will be nice too because they used unnecessarily thick Blu-ray cases for the first two seasons, this'll hopefully be in a nice, space-saving box.
This came out of nowhere! I will gladly buy this! Ever since they stopped at S2 I've been itching for the rest of the show on BD.
And again don't be surprised by the price. It's a pre-order and will obviously go down. With the previous 2 seasons being easily had for $10, I can see this being around $80 or so. I will snatch this up so quick!
What issues should one be aware of if trying to decide whether or not to purchase this set?
Outside of the music clearance issues (which I assume will be carried over from the DVD sets), the only real issue I've noticed with any of the previous DVD sets of the show, is that they use a syndicated edit (missing around five minutes of footage) of the fifth season finale. I never got around to buying the Mill Creek season five DVD set though, so perhaps this is no longer an issue.

Cool. Thanks for the head-up.
I'll keep an ear out in regards to these issues.

So do we know yet if the blu-ray set includes the full season 5 finale or is it still the syndicated version? And does the blu-ray set suffer from music rights issues?
Also, season 2 episode 2 of the single season release had an issue where much of the footage was sourced from SD:
"The only real eyesores come in episode two. It seems some of the film elements weren't located for the release, and many scenes have been sourced from standard definition video (see screenshot 10), yielding fuzzy textures, false colors, jagged lines, and poor clarity. The switch is jarring, but such scenes are brief though rather plentiful."
Has this been corrected for this set or is it the same transfer with the SD material?
According to the review on this site the set does have scattered episodes with some SD content. I wonder just how much of that SD content shows up throughout the set?
Mine still hasn't shipped, but payment was finally processed. Status now says "Shipping Today". I'm guessing they'll be using a same day delivery service like one of their own vans or A1.
A quick comparison of the bitrate monitor between the individual seasons and the new complete series release reveals a substantial drop. The old sets hover anywhere between the high 20s and the high 30s (and surpass 40 on a couple of occasions), while this new set lingers in the low 20s and high teens. [...] In response to a Blu-ray.com inquiry on the subject, Mill Creek Entertainment's Vice President of Marketing had this say: "[O]ur first individual season releases were spread across 4 BD-25s. This set uses BD-50s throughout to keep the overall disc count down and yet retain optimal bit rates. We have not noticed any quality loss using the dual layered blu-rays versus the single layer."
This marketing vice president is either lying or he doesn't know what he's talking about. The individual sets for seasons 1 and 2 were BD50. The huge difference in the bitrates prove that. I also own the discs and checked...
I also got an email saying it was backordered, but it so say's preparing for shipment. It has a date of expected delivery from November 16th, through December 4th. So, I guess I should probably expect it sometime between those times.
