Pre-ordered this one as well - I am a sucker for these types of Korean flicks. But I like Kim Yun-Seok so despite me not knowing anything beyond the description above, I am excited to check this out.

Let me know how you like it.

I bought the DVD when it was out in South Korea last year (bought two actually; one for me and one for a good friend of mine) and I was very positively surprised how much I liked it. It has a great cast with great chemistry, the story works very well and the leading lady is so sweet and charming that I got emotionally involved while watching it.

I am happy to hear the movie had this type of effect on you. Only because I basically get emotionally involved in a lot of Korean romance flicks - they just feel like they are done "right" so to speak.

Yes, I know what you mean, and I totally agree !

However, have you guys noticed that in recent years many movies and TV-series that could have been really great, seem to have lost its special charm ? I noticed they been adding a more "glamorous and extravagant" approach into the plot, which I strongly feel has a negatively affect the whole feeling of a movie (or TV-series)...

"Will You Be There?" (2016) however, I was able to let myself go into the story and even fell in love

Not sure exactly what you mean by the flicks and TV series being more glamorous or extravagant more recently... but I am generally pretty picky and selective with romance flicks (comedy or drama) as some can get too full of themselves or try to be more than they really are. In some cases, the leads are too unlikeable or the story is too far out there for me to get invested.

This isn't an issue exclusive to Korean, US, or any region's cinema... but the simpler the story in some cases, the better. While in other instances, sometimes some complication makes the moments all the more sweet and something you could truly want to remember or relive/rewatch without getting sick of it.

As a general statement, I would say that most films in these genres struggle from trying to be something incredible which makes them feel unnatural. Son Ye Jin is someone who seems to strike all the right chords in anything geared towards a romance (whether heavier on drama or more of a comedy) because she gets that balance right herself and it probably speaks to her being selective. Even in campier films like Spellbound, it is still likeable and sweet because you just have a nice chemistry. Not many actors or actresses can bring that to the table.

The favorite K-dramas are as follows:
Personal Taste
You Who Came From the Stars
Descendants of the Sun

What they all have in common is they know how-to mix up some comedy (giving you a reason to like most of the characters and get invested in them) but their stories are all pretty heartfelt. Most other dramas are pretty much the same thing to me in that I am not too invested in the lead couple getting together and staying together.

I got this today in the mail. It is a really beautiful set, and well deserved for this really nice movie. I was lucky enough to get a postcard that was signed (not printed, but actually signed), but I am not sure who signed it. I have a feeling it is the signature of the movie Director Mrs. Hong Jin-young (홍진영)... I would have preferred the main actor - Mr. Kim Yoon-seok (김윤석) but I should not complain.

Here is a direct link for those who might be interested in this movie and release: https://plainarchive.com/collections...nticular-pa046

Yeah, that’s the director’s signature. I got the female lead Chae Seo-jin’s signature. I’ve yet to see anyone get Kim Yoon-seok’s signature with this set though....

I'm so envious!!!

Customs has had my copy for the past week, no doubt deciding what month they're going to pass it on to the postal service to try and destroy before they decide whether to deliver it or not.

Watch... all that and I'll be one of the unlucky ones who DOESN'T get a sig card LOL :-)

I’m right there with you. Mine was in L.A. on the 19th and has been to three different USPS Facilities. Now it’s back at the Regional Destination Facility in L.A.

I picture the box being used as a football while they take their breaks.
