Default Dreamworks Animation

Today all my Dreamworks Animation titles were duplicated in Itunes. It looks like a lot of the Itunes Extras were removed. A lot of the newer versions don't have them anymore and if I do a 'Show on Itunes store' on the originals, the file is not there anymore.

From what I can tell, Universal has officially taken over from Fox. I figure that has something to do with it.

I was glad Universal was taking over DreamWorks Animation distribution because they issued iTunes and UV codes whereas Fox was either-or. Now that Universal stopped issuing iTunes codes I wish DWA was back with Fox!

This will be a big test for MA and digital rights. We should all get updated to “own” the new listings since we have general rights to these films in MA.

Wonder if the 3 movies on uhd bd will now see uhd in iTunes finally. And they grant the uhd rights if you owned the hd movies already.

Yeah, this is because of the studio switch. I was surprised to see additional copies appear myself, I figured I would just have the 'Fox versions' and anyone that bought them new would get the 'Universal versions'...
The Universal ones will have extras soon if they don't already. Just takes some time to sort it all out. (That might be why we have two for the time being... The Fox ones may actually go away completely at some point.)

My concern here is if any of these DreamWorks titles get UHD upgrades. I bought them at iTunes when they were still Fox. Now I also have Universal versions in my library but I don't know if they would count as eligible for UHD upgrades or if they were re-imported back from Movies Anywhere or a complimentary copy that will forever remain HD.

It seems any time there is a new version, the old ones are not eligible for 4K upgrades. I have been having an ongoing issue with Itunes about Ghostbusters II that I purchased directly from them. It never received the 4K upgrade because they got a 'new' version in.

In itunes, if they get upgraded to UHD, you should get the upgrade. It will happen to the Universal versions though, Fox will no longer touch them.
But that might also be part of why everyone is getting the Universal versions automatically, so if Universal makes any changes to them, everyone benefits...
Are any of these released digitally in UHD yet? We won't know for sure until it happens, but I can pretty much guarantee that Fox and their versions are out of the picture for any future updates...

So do we think these Dreamworks duplicates will sort themselves out, in the long run? Rather annoying to see the dupes in my library.

No, I just went through and hid each one that wouldn't link me back to a current listing in the store. The ones that had iTunes Extras are back for me, as well.

It looks like the new version of Antz is SD only?

Edit: Never mind. They fixed it, or I was imagining things.

So what did everyone do to solve this? Is right-clicking on the ones that don't link to the store and hitting "Delete from Library" is how you hide them from ATV or is there another solution?

Also, were Boss Baby, Captain Underpants or Trolls ever 4K?

When you delete, it will ask if you want to hide them. That’s how we’ve done it.
