I'm thinking of making a blind buy at Barnes and Noble using their 50% off and 30% off black friday coupon. I have seen no films in either of these sets.
What should I get: Pier Paolo Pasolini's Trilogy of Life or 3 Films by Roberto Rossellini Starring Ingrid Bergman. What Italian should I go with and why? |

Both sets are very good and I own both -- between the two, I prefer the Trilogy of Life since all three films are so joyful and emotionally fulfilling (especially Arabian Nights, which I've revisited several times).
Rossellini's films with Ingrid Bergman is a great set as well, but all three are kind of downers and I haven't felt the need to re-watch since my first viewing. |

ARABIAN NIGHTS does play like Pasolini's feel good film (except for maybe all the non consensual sex jokes).
