Confused about 1080p on a Vizio VX32L - Blu-ray Forum

So I moved my Sony S300 to the bedroom TV, which is a 32" Vizio VX32L. According to Vizio, this TV has a native rez of 1366 x 768, obviously short of the 1920 x 1080 needed for true 1080p.

However, when playing a Blu-ray movie today, the S300 indicated it was sending in 1080p and the TV's info button indicated it was displaying 1080p. I didn't think this was possible.

Could one of you tech geniuses clue me in as to how a non-1080p TV could claim to be displaying a 1080p signal?

it probly like toshiba likes to do is say "its a 1080p tv" only in fine print hidden it says accepts 1080p signal

probly's just saying its 1080p but if your vizo is 1366x768 its just down converting it to either 720p or 1080i
