Are there any region free Blu-Ray players that do not require hacking or sodering that I can buy from a regular store like Best Buy?
Ideally I would like a region free Blu-Ray player that can upconvert to 4K that won't break the bank. Are these region free out of the box? How would you make them region free? https://express.google.com/product/2...921774_6136318 https://express.google.com/product/1...208235_6136318 I'm new to the region free scene but it's been confusing even after spending an hour on research. |

none are region free without being hacked or modded, your best bet is to buy one on ebay, they have warranty and are ready to go when u to go when u get them.

Multi-System is a great seller. Highly recommended: http://www.ebaystores.com/multisystemdvdregionfreedvd
Recommended players: Sony BDP S3700: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SONY-S3...kAAOSwoudW-Vgg Sony BDP S6700(3D capable): https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Sony-S6...kAAOSw3mpXG4iw Samsung BD-J5100: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-BD-...0AAOSw-7RVHVmm If you decide on one of the Sony BDP 4K upscale models, 6500 and higher, please perform these steps to to remove the forced DNR on the players: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.ph...1&postcount=70 However, this is unecessary if you use the player on a 4K television, as described in the first post of that thread. Also, beware of performing firmware upgrades. I know the ICOS mods are supposed to allow you to upgrade firmware and keep the region mod, but a firmware update for my J5100 broke the region mod and reverted it back to region A/ 1 only. Ended up getting a separate player that is solely for non region A discs that is not even connected to the internet. FYI, 4K UHD discs have no region locking!
