Excellent news! I love that 80s scene- Lydia Lunch, Joe Coleman, Ann Magnusson were all brilliant multi media artists. I've wanted to watch this ever since it was first released and have never had the chance.

Received my copy of this and finished watching it as well as all the supplemental material. It's such a cool snapshot of the late 80s East Side arts scene. I'm not sure the linking subplot of the innocent young girl wandering the streets of New York and witnessing these events adds anything to the film, but since she's essentially just a silent figure we are following, it doesn't detract either. Just pointless. I forgot there was a (softcore) sex scene featuring Veronica Vera and Annie Sprinkle amongst the group. The high point was Dean and the Weenies performance of "F*ck You".
The new interviews are quite interesting, particularly Joe Coleman, and the soundtrack CD is great. Played it many times this week. The only other things I might've liked to see are new interviews with Karen Finley, Phoebe Legere, Ann Magnuson, and/or Lydia Lunch. |
