Finally! Nuts that this Hughes classic has avoided a Blu-ray release for so long. Can't wait to add to the collection.

Great news. I'm still buying even though it will have some DNR and people will overexagerate how bad it is.

Hopefully its not DNR city on this transfer though.

While I can't make the argument that Weird Science is the best John Hughes movie, it's the one I've seen the most and it has a special place in my heart. It speaks to the twelve year old in me and I think the jokes still hold up. I'll be picking this one up for sure.

Finally! Love Weird Science. Also the film that introduced me to Oingo Boingo and Danny Elfman.

Now let's hope we get more '80s comedies - Night Shift, Splash, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, all still missing on blu-ray.

Love this movie as well. A definite buy. Others I hope Universal get around to are Biloxi Blues, Midnight Run, Far and Away, The Burbs, and Twins.

No, not obviously. It doesn't say Universal anywhere plus the artwork the OP posted isn't the US poster art AFAIK. With studios licensing everything but the best known A-movies these days anyone could believe the film was farmed out to a third party.

It's obviously Universal because it's getting a simultaneous worldwide release, all coming from ... you guessed it. Universal. They've already made the announcement overseas.

So far France, UK, Germany, USA all have preorders up for the fall. The OP (as he typically does) just grabbed some random poster image of the Internet - you're reading too much into it.

It's most definitely Universal. They're also releasing High Plains Drifter, Slap Shot and bunch of re-releases on the same day.

this is definitely in my top 3 of john hughes movies.
