Christ, if they are going to do a remake, at least use the second movie as the source. I saw Every Which Way But Loose again a couple of years ago, and was alarmed at just how shoddy it was. The theme-song is a classic, but the movie isn't.

Any Which Way You Can is still a lot of fun, and a major set up in both the quality of writing and production.

I don't care that this movie is being remade. It's not like they're remaking The Godfather. The question I have comes down to intent. Is their intent what got Total Recall remade or is their intent what got True Grit remade?

I had fond memories of watching both of these as a kid in the early 80's on TV. I watch them again a few years ago and was taken aback at how dull and boring they were. The first one hardly had any plot, the second one at least had one but basically stopped and the film ended. They've both aged badly and hardly worth watching anymore. It's the same story of most late 70's "comedies" like Smoky and the Bandit and the squeals and Canonball Run. Great memories but disappointing re watches

I just was thinking this morning how amazing it'd be that someone decided to remake some low budget Clint Eastwood action comedies. I also remembered this was rumored in January 2017 like the article and nothing else has ever came of it.
