Default What goes around comes around Paramount LOL

Like I said when Paramount did a number on us what goes around comes around lol. Warner Bros decision to go blu-ray exclusive is awesome! Paramount is kicking themselves in the butt for chossing a format that will eventually die. What goes around comes around. Today Blu-ray fans rejoice!!!!!!! We love you Warner!

BLU-RAY is the only way!

Yes! Even if Paramount is able to get out of their contract, they will have to start releasing blockbuster titles right away before I buy any Paramount Blu-rays again.

The first should be Transformers. With a totally different encode (video and audio) to match the superiority of Blu!

Now the HD fanboys are posting articles saying Warner was going HD but wanted Fox to go HD exclusive too but Fox said no, so Warner said no, plus HD side is claiming BDA paid $500 million? http://formatwarcentral.com/index.ph...-from-the-bda/ but they dont mention the Paramount buyout from the HD DEAD side do they? LMAO! Looks like HD side got counterpunched and knocked the **** out! with that deal. Its already a Happy Blu Year!

I know none of it is true - but if it were - BD Association pays better $500MILLION compared to a paltry $150. Pfft. Yeah, being blu does have it's perks

Lol. Again, not true but if it were it's funny.

it is pretty funny, however...

paramount got a lot of money to do this switch so it was a good business decisoin. they didn't loste that many profits by not selling blu ray to cancel out the 'bribe'

they will come back wehn their contract is over and it will have been like nothing had ever happened except that they got a bot load of money for a year away from blu. i doubt they are regretting their decisoin for htese reasons.

LOL thats true but they were so hell bent on saying HD-DVD was a better product. Heck even Michael Bay disagreed with their decision. I still think its funny how karma came back to bite them 150 million dolars or not their Shrek campaign didnt help save theeir supporting formar.

Did you expect them to say, "We've chosen the inferior format and have done so solely due to a $150M bribe." Methinks the HD-DVD association would have frowned on that much honesty.

It's gotta suck for Paramount/DW to jump ship only to watch WB go Blu exclusive. And they have to know that Universal isn't that far behind with blu-ray support. Oh well, with that $150,000,000, maybe they could find a high price attorney to look for a loophole/out clause in that contract.

BLU-RAY is the only way!
When Paramount is forced kicking and screaming to release blu-ray titles again they will always be my lowest priority for purchases. I will not reward their greedy cash grab that furthered the format war.

Paramount is the worst studio in Hollywood. Period.

I know, it feels good doesn't it. I don't feel the least bit of sympathy for Paramount after the shit they pulled.

Although I do hope they get out of their contract so we can see Transformers and countless other great movies that they have the rights for.

Warner still not picking a side in the hi-def format war
12 September 2007 22:35 by Rich "vurbal" Fiscus | 27 comments

Despite reports of lucrative offers to follow Paramount's lead and get behind HD DVD exclusively, Waner Home Video president Ron Sanders says competitive sales of both formats are likely to ensure they release titles in both formats.

In an interview with This Week In Consumer Electronics, Sanders answered questions about the future of HD at Warner, saying "we’re talking to both sides and it’s crazy right now. We remain committed to both for the time being. We’ll see how the fourth quarter plays out. The consumer is still kind of divided, and we still believe that we should offer the content in both formats. Now, we will watch the marketplace very closely, and see how it plays out, but for now we are supporting both."

He called the current situation between HD DVD and Blu-ray "a Mexican standoff", and indicated that his company doesn't really care which side wins, as long as people are buying some kind of players so they can sell whatever kind of discs they play.

Unlike other companies, Warner has hedged it's bets by creating TotalHD which includes HD DVD on one side of the disc and Blu-ray on the other. According to Sanders plans for TotalHD releases are "on hold right now" because other studios haven't shown interest in it.
