As we move into the next generation console launch, do you have a cut off point your not going to buy games for the current consoles?
Ghost of Tsushima will probably be my final game purchase for this gen, after that I’ll probably just live off my library on both systems till mid September/early October, trade them both in and wait. Any games that come out after that I’ll save them up to play on the new systems. |

Exactly. I'm in no rush to get a PS5. Based on how big the thing is, I'll wait for a slim version. It'll take a Days Gone sequel or FFVIIR 2 to get my money.

I don’t have one, but I saved some games for the ps5, most importantly Red Dead Redemption 2, I think it’s too good and big to be played on current gen, the same apply to Cyberpunk but this got pushed back anyway
other games I saved for ps5: - Sekiro - Devil May Cry 5 - Doom Eternal - Jedi Fallen Order (this one struggles on current systems apparently) |

My backlog is so huge (and I haven't stopped working) that I need to make myself stop picking up games. I really don't see a need for a new console anytime in the near future. It would probably take an amazing killer app.

I've pretty much had a cut off point for a whole bunch of this year and all purchases typically being held off for the next gen. There are small exceptions which are great digital sales and very cheap titles. Apart from that, all new releases have been nixed until next gen.

I don't have one. Everything I'm buying has been, or will be, cross buy. I'd love a ps5 at launch, but we don't know the price, so I don't know if I'll be able to afford it. If I can afford it, it doesn't mean I'll find one in stock or be able to pre-order it in time. I may as well play PS4 versions of the games I want, and get the free upgrades later.

It really depends on the pricing, storage options or if one can upgrade the NVMe M.2 storage. Also, how many PS4 games may get PS5 upgrades and how many non sports game can hit 60fps.
At the earliest, I will buy it in the Spring of 2021. If some things don't seem as great, I may put it off until the Summer or slightly longer. I will usually buy the most important physical games and the ones that will be exclusive, which I like, well in advanced of buying the PS5. I bought 7 games in the 6 months leading up to my purchase of the PS4 in 2015. |

Mine was mid-February this year; i left my PS4 Pro in the boot of the car during 3 days of the coldest weather (i had family issues to deal with and forgot about it) returned and hard a crack as i lifted it out; took it to a bunch of console repair guys who told me the motherboard had a 3 inch crack in it.
![]() Since then any gaming of 3rd party titles has been on my 1X, with only Driveclub and Borderlands 2 GoTY on the PS4. |
